As time Goes By...
You must remember this…A kiss is just a kiss….
The First Kiss
The first kiss was stolen in the dark night of a foreign planet.
Maybe it was the food or the water or the air that made them do it.
Maybe it was the realization that this was what they wanted.
It was gentle, no more really than the brush of lips against flesh then lips against lips.
It was quick, a hurried exchange, an unasked question.
It would have been silent but for the answer, a low moan of encouragement.
Eyes blazed in the dark.
Hearts pounded in the silence
Lust blossomed in the night.
A kiss is just a kiss?

As Time Goes By…
You must remember this…A kiss is just a kiss….
The Next Kiss
The next kiss wasn’t stolen.
The next kiss was given and it was taken.
The next kiss was a symbol of what they wanted, what they needed, what they were no longer going to deny themselves.
It began gently but grew quickly taking on a life of its own.
Lips were bruised and skin was reddened.
It was both slow and quick, changing as their emotions changed
Tongues explored and with no need for silence, passion grew.
Bodies pressed together in the dark
Kisses explored more than just lips
Love blossomed in the night.
A kiss is just a kiss?

As Time Goes By…
You must remember this…A kiss is just a kiss….
The Important Kiss
This kiss wasn’t like any other.
It wasn’t stolen nor was it hidden.
It was brazen and open and spoke of love.
Yes it was a kiss, it was flesh on flesh but it was more.
It was gentle and yet sparkled with passion and lust and love.
It was silent but for the gentle fall of tears.
Those that watched the kiss knew what it meant.
It meant ‘I love you’
It meant ‘I do’
Together now... forever
Hearts and minds joined in the day
Bodies and souls joined in the night
A kiss is just a kiss?

As Time Goes By…
You must remember this…A kiss is just a kiss….
The Final Kiss
The final kiss came, ushered in on a blaze of pain.
No time to think, hardly time to act.
No time to care about what if and who might see.
It was a tender kiss on dying lips, warm caresses on cool skin
It was love and lust and life and death
It tasted of tears and blood
It was everything and yet it wasn’t enough
No longer would they be together
This kiss said I love you
No more laughter or love
This kiss said don’t die
Then there were no more kisses
A kiss is more than just a kiss
